The Carbon Challenge pits two teams against each other in a friendly and educational carbon footprint reduction effort. If you'd like to start your own challenge, please contact bruce@ecoshift.org. I'll be happy to set up a custom page with your results.
A big thank you to the members of the Mercer Island City Council and the Mercer Island School Board for participating in this first Carbon Challenge!
The members agreed to dig up their carbon footprint information for last year (May 2009 to April 2010) and then compare that against their footprints for the current year (May 2010 to April 2011).
The results will be presented here with quarterly updates.
Each bar on the chart represents a team average footprint.
The prize hasn't been revealed yet, but the winner will be the team with the largest percent decrease in footprint for 'this year' (May 2010 to April 2011) compared to last year.
Important note: Data is currently incomplete for baseline (last year) and challenge (this year) for the first quarter. Charts are for illustrative purposes only at this time.
